AB Grade (Prime Grade):
AB grade is the cleanest board of flooring available to buy, it is highly uniform in appearance and contains very few knots. The few knots which are in it will be very small and won’t stand out. The sapwood content of the wood is minimal with it being a maximum of 5% per plank and there is very little colour variation. It is these factors that give the board the uniform look.
CD Grade (Rustic Grade):
Also known as country grade this board will contain knots and sapwood which could measure up to 35mm. There will be plenty of colour variation when installed and when purchasing you should buy approximately 10% extra than you require to allow for wastage. (i.e. boards that maybe are very different in colour would not be able to be used.)
