Historically it was common to have lino in a modern suburban bedroom, so installing bedroom laminate flooring is an obvious choice. It is also a sensible alternative to carpet, In places like Italy, Portugal and France you will very rarely see carpet used in a house, not even in a bedroom. They consider carpet as unhygienic, so just from that perspective it makes laminate the perfect solution. It is soft and warm underfoot - so important when those winter evenings start drawing in! Bedroom laminate also provides heat and sound insulation making it a great choice. It can also be installed with electric or water fuelled heating underneath for added cosiness.
When planning a new bedroom then you will have many decisions to make. The wardrobes, style of bed, curtains or blinds. A major part of that decision is what type of flooring you are going to use. Traditionally us Brits have just laid thick carpet down - it always seemed like the obvious option. Nowadays it makes more much more sense to install a good quality bedroom laminate. Many of us have pets these days, especially after lockdown - dogs and cats who tend to bring a little bit of nature indoors with them every day! Installing laminate flooring in the bedroom therefore makes for a sensible and hygienic choice. It doesn't harbour bugs, bacteria or microbes like traditional fabric floor coverings and can be easily brushed and mopped.
It's all down to personal choice. Once you have decided to lay bedroom laminate flooring you just need to decide on teh colour and the finish. You need to balance the colour of teh flooring with the rest of teh room, so think about the colour scheme, and don't forget the duvet, pillows and other soft furnishings. You can always further enhance the room with a good quality rug, or rugs (either side of the bed?). These will provide further cushioning and sound proofing!
Honestly, our advise on this one is to go for the thickest one that fits your budget. As we have said above sound and warmth are the leading factors here, so the thicker bedroom laminate you can afford teh better, and always combine with a good quality laminate underlay.
